Run DMC

For those of you who dont know, my cousin Brian is on a TV show called Daddy's Girls with the Simmons sisters. Those of you who dont know who they are, they are the daughters of Rev. Run, of the pioneering Hip Hop group Run DMC. Now back to my point, last summer i was talking to Vanessa about the painting I had done for her sister. She told me that I should do big painting of Run DMC for her dad. I finally did one over xmas break 2009. I wasnt too happy with the way it came out so Im in the process of doing another one. When its done, im going to drive it to LA and personally deliver to the sisters to be sent to their dad as a gift. I cant wait to hear what he thinks about it...shit maybe id even get on the show for an episode!!!

Angela Simmons

I did a personal piece for Angela Simmons last summer. She had no idea I was doing it, so when she saw it she flipped...absolutley loved it. Heres the before and after....

Veritas Aquitas

And shepard's we shall be. For thee, my lord, for thee.

Personal Piece

Ive only done 4 Personal Piece's so far but there are going to be plenty more. My idea is to eventually have 20 to 30 done. There will only be 2 made of each piece, and each person will be somebody that I personally know, hence the name Personal Piece. When these are done I will put on an art show and invite every person that I had the honor to make a custom piece for.

Enough of that....here is the newest one. I hope you like it...she did.

Bread n Butter

I love doing these Monroe's...Ive got so many random color combos i have to start coming up with names for each one...

Effen Aye Man...

My crazy godfather Lenny is always bringing random shit over to my parents house. Last week he brought a bottle of Vodka for band practice (he's in a band with my dad). The vodka is called Effen Vodka. It was pretty effen good.

Ps...I love Toys R us

The Creek

Growing up as a kid, we spent our summers at our cabin in the Russian River area. Countless hours were spent in this creek. We rode our bikes though it, had water fights, played with our tractor trucks, it was endless. But every year it was dry, we prayed on the way up that there would be water running through it. When there was, we had races with sticks and little paper make-shift boats, it was so damn fun. I went up there this past weekend to show my girlfriend, who had not been there yet, and there was water!!! It brought back so many memories as a kid, so I took a couple shots of it. Enjoy.

Hes not dead.

This Tupac came out so damn good. The customer was so happy with it. Now that I think about it, I havent even done another one for MY wall.

Its been a while since Ive posted some new artwork up here. Im an awesome procrastinator. Heres a pair of shoes I did as an Xmas gift for a ladys daughter.

Im super stoked on this pair, they came out great and the girl loves them!

Tattooed Chesty

I finally did it. I grew a big enough set of testicles to get my chest tattooed. It wasnt too bad considering Jared, a few super cool people I met, and myself killed a bottle of Jameson. Heres a few of the pictures I had on my phone. Theres more to come...

We killed a fresh bottle of Jameson that night. Aint no better feeling than getting a big ass tattoo while liquored up...hahahah!!!

I was passing out shots to everyone in the shop, and made friends with some pretty rad people.

Yeah it hurt a bit. The sternum had me gasping for air!

Half in the bag with a tattooed chesty. word.

FnD Films vs CoDef

When I was in LA a month or so ago, I got to help out with filming a short skit called "Black" for F n D Films. Check out the link and some of their other videos too, those kids are fucking funny!!

Check out my boy JHolla from The Codefendants. So nerdy. LOL.

Talk about flattery....

My friend Erin from New York painted this portrait of me. She's sofa king good!!! I cant stop looking at it. Thank you so much Erin, I cant wait to frame it!

Pretty Flowers

Not bad for being taken with my Blackberry. At 2 in the morning. Wasted.

El Chupacabra

This shit is scary!! A rancher in Texas found this animal dead on his ranch and took it to a taxidermist. Some people believe it to be the mythical chupacabra, which is a hairless, nocturnal wolf like dog. The name chupacabra roughly translates to "goatsucker". Its said these animals are vampiric and live off blood of its prey, and are considered the "mexican bigfoot."

Where can I get one?

Step by Step

I recently did a James Dean for my friend Camille. Its prob gonna be the last one I do too because I used a new spray adhesive that was way too sticky and the damn stencil tore in half. Anyway heres a few pics of the process.

So obviously you start out with a blank canvas.

Since you want the background to be a certain color you need to make a stencil to cover where the face is going to be. That way the area of the canvas where the face is will stay white.

This is what it looks like after you spray the background. Once this is done and the paint is dry you can lay the stencil of the face onto the canvas, making sure that it lines up correctly. Then spray it and what you get is the picture below.

Not bad right?

Make sure you spray the back side of each stencil with spray adhesive, that way when you spray it with spray paint you dont get any under spray or leakage.

New stencil completed

I recently did a stencil of my friend Tasha in LA.

Heres the pic I took from her Facebook.

And heres the finished product.

Any thoughts???

Sorry Ryan and Kristen....

I know I still owe you two home made sushi!!! And its gonna happen I promise!!

Check this out tho...

The traditional apprenticeship of a sushi chef can take up to 10 years!! They start by doing all the bitch work for the master chef. Its usually several years before they even get close to touching or cutting fish and up to 3 years just learning how to cook the rice!

Screw that, just go to the store and get the kit for $20, ingredients for around $40 to $50, and find a video on how to do it on youtube and your ready!!

Airport bars are lonely places

Sitting at a bar in the Oakland airport. Guinness calms my nerves.

Diamonds Are Forever

So 2 years ago now, maybe 3, I can't remember, I gave out 10 Diamonds that I had painted to my best friends and family. Each Diamond was painted differently but each had the same meaning behind them. It was basically to signify that persons importance in my life. On the back of the painting I had written out the description of what a diamond was, and what it meant to me. It might sound a little corny but everyone I gave them to were really touched and loved them. The following year I had meant to give out a couple more but It never happened. So this year Im hoping to get them done and delivered. Here are the ones I gave out that year...
